clunking sounds?!?!?

im having some clunking sounds coming from the rear. i just had new axles put in and i thought that would help the problem but the clunking sound is still there. also i have another clunking sound coming from the center, seems like where the drivling meets the tranny. it mainly makes the sound when i am taking of normaly in 1st gear. it will make that clunking noise. anyone else have this problem.

First off are you an A4 or M6? These sounds occurr during driving or only while shifting into gear. More information would make it easier to narrow down.
