Block leaking... what would you do?
For the more immediate problem, try some JB weld (or similar product), you want to plug up the porosity, clean the area with alcohol, and apply the JB Weld, let it setup, and drive the car, it may help, but if it doesn't you haven't lost anything

EDIT: I've sent an email to GM with the concern, and i will call them tomorrow, what else should i do as far as trying to get it worked out with GM?

As for what to do with GM, if you have your manual it'll list the district office, I'd give them a call, and get a copy of the article, where GM admitted there was a problem.
This may all be in vain, as GM seems loath to try and help even if the problem originated at the factory
