Default Replacing the alternator today

Heading out to the garage now. Anyone done this before? I took a look at it, and I can't see HOW in the h*ll I'm going to get that thing out of there without pulling the power steering pump and reservoir (which will probably mean removing some coolant piping, which will probably mean draining the radiator.)

I think I need to invest in a decent repair manual. My Hanes manual says, "Just take off the electrical connectors, take out the mounting bolts, replace the unit and reconnect everything, and a rainbow will appear in the sky." The pictures are lousy and the text isn't detailed at all.

i've taken mine out a few times, only takes a few minutes. you don't have to worry about taking all that other stuff off, if you do it from the bottom. Oh...and disconnect your battery.

I agree, if you take it out from the bottum you shouldn't have any problems and it only takes a few minutes, I've had mine out twice.

LMAO

Yeeep, take it outta the bottom. Not hard at all. Unhook the battery connections, go under the front of the car, take the acc. belt off, and unbolt the thing.... oh and then look for the rainbow

Thanks everyone. Took it out from the bottom and had no problems .. just a little knuckle-banging and cussing.
