what type of oil?
what type of oil? IM approaching my next oil change soon...i've been using mobil 1 synthetic 10 30..is there certain oil that i can use to reduce piston slap noise??? or should i just stick with the same.

There is nothing an oil can do to fix a mechanical problem. You can try heavier weight but I think you are putting a load on your engine you don't need. These all aluminium engines have the notorious slap or tick. If you caught early on it would have been done under warranty. Till then just use the usuall stuff and turn the radio up. When you own a fast car, your allowed to have some noises.

Well, there are a lot of threads on this topic, but from my research and Patman's advice:
Best oils:
Redline 5w30 (I use this)
Amsoil 5w30 (not the XL)
German Castrol 0w30/5w30
Mobil1 Truck&SUV 5w40
Some people have switched from 0w30 gc to 5w40 Amsoil and heard a reduction in slap, but oil analysis suggests that wear numbers on the Redlin/Amsoil/GC are excellent. I have yet to get my own oil analysis done (waiting for package in the mail) so I speak this only from the experience of others. I will post my Analysis results in a few weeks when it comes back from the lab.
