Fed up with power windows. I tried searching but I guess my computer skills are sufficiently lacking as have made that search fruitless. Anyhow, I'm sick and tired of not being able to roll my windows up and down in my 2000 SS. New electric motors fix the problem but only for a very short time. Besides, I'm using the car for drag racing more than cruising. Is there a way to convert to manual crank windows from electric power windows economically? Any 1998-on Camaros come with manual crank windows so that I might be lucky enough to buy the whole door thereby making sure to get everything I need? The benefit is two-fold for me. Lighter weight and actually being able to roll the damned windows up when it starts raining. 
I've recently stopped rolling them down altogether for fear of not being able to roll them back up again.

Im with you dude i would rather have manual windows. making power windows standard (i forget the year) was GM's way of making you buy 20 window motors from them.
I think the motor setup design was horrible. It should have included some kind of larger gear on the motor for less strain. It seems that there can be several factors that can kill your window motor early.
Another thing that i will cry about while im in here is the T-top levers. They get real stubborn over time and with plastic handles they can strip. That = a t top that you thought you locked in place that wasnt.
Then when your cruising around 80mph it will suck off your car and fly up in the air only to let you see it shatter behind you.
