Power locks not working
HELP! Power locks not working I am in the process of buying a 2000 WS6 Trans Am with 37,645 miles.
The power locks arent working right on it.
When you push the lock button on the remote, the lights flash and it arms the alarm and makes a click sound but doesnt lock either door. Same thing when you push the lock button on the door panel, makes the click sound but wont lock the doors. Same thing when you hit the unlock buttons, wont unlock the car. But yet the hatch release on the remote works fine. The only way to lock the car is by using your finger and pushing the slide lock manually or using the key.
What could be causing this and how to fix it?

Sounds like the solenoids are bad in the doors. The clicking you hear should be the Body control module clicking it's internal relays. I would take the door panels off and manually test the solenoids.
Thats kinda what I was thinking also.
Cause you can hear the clicking sound coming from behind the pass. kick panel. Around 36,000 miles both power window motors were replaced under warrenty. So Im thinking maybe they screwed something up when they did that.
