Lots of "clunks" from the drivetrain...
There seems to be lots of clunks coming from the drivetrain, (transmission, rearend). They always make noise when I shift, but I don't think I'm that bad of a shifter. Does this happen with other people's cars? I have a SS M6.

My camaro doesn't clunk but my Chevelle had some real bad noises coming from it, turned out the rear u-joint was bad. All the needle bearings melted, I should have greased them better .

Mine did this when I had an aftermarket clutch in it. I went back to stock and haven't noticed since. I only noticed when shifting to 1st, 2nd or reverse, but seems alright now. ???

Hmm. Well I really noticed it all this morning, when the engine was not warmed up. I also recently took a bunch of carpeting and the backseats out so I think sound probably comes up through the body easier now.

Check the trans mount, u-joints, and there could be some slop in the gear.
