Default Strange electrical issues

I have been having issues with my car since thursday of last week. ( weather went from about 75 to 45 in a day not sure if that helps with the situation or not) anyway, I was installing my linlock and I went to start my car and nothing would happen. I would have accessory power, but when I went to crank the motor over I got a click from the starter but that was it. then there would be a ticking from my pass side glovebox for about 20 seconds. So I left my car at school for a couple days. I went back on saturday, connected my battery and the car started. however, when I went to put my lights on it took about 15 seconds for them to come up, they would rise an inch wait a few seconds rise up another inch..... this all happened when i had the foglights on; not even the headlights. when I put the highbeams on one headlight doesn't work at all and the rest of the time one headlight only has one lamp on that is very dim and the other side looks dim as well. my left blinker light is on but is solid and my left blinker won't work. my highbeam light is on but dim all the time until i flip them on, then it looks normal. when I shut my lights off they won't go down for a long time 15-20 minutes? after they do i can still hear a ticking coming from undrneath the headlights. anyone have any idea what could have caused this?

well here is an update, I flipped the gear in one headlight and i am not doing the same with the other. the drivers side headlight would not go down, so I manuallly did it. it was hung up at first and I really needed to twist the hand operated thing to get it to get going. then there was a click and it went down kinda easy. i went to unplug the harness and almost puked. the motor and headlight harness is full of some brown gunk on the inside, I have no clue what it is but i think it may be causing my problems. has anyone had this similar brown gunk, it looks like brown snot. how do I get rid of this?

My left headlight is dimmer than the right normally. When I go to high beams, the left headlight goes out completely and the right one works properly. those are my only symptoms. I had a little corrosion on the harness but certainly not to the 'brown snot' level you had. Cleaning it did nothing. I think the voltage out of the chassis harness is too low, so I'm looking for a schematic.

did you find a fix yet? I'm still searching...

yak ...

Dim lights and slow motors indicate low voltage and not enough amps. I agree the "brown snot" is a likely cause of the problem ... but I have no idea of where it could have come from. The only thing around the headlight motor that has any liquid is the radiator. Is this "brown snot" possibly coolant from the radiator? Seems like any coolant leak would have gone backward rather than toward the front of the car.

You may have a potential fire hazard with all the different electrical problems. I would do what could as quickly as possible.

Sorry I can't be more help.
