Oil?
OK I have spent the last two nights doing research on what oil I should
use. I have read most of the ten pages that Patman has posted on oil. To
my understanding he uses Castrol Syntec 0W-30 and a K&N filter, not trying
to be a suckass but from his posts he knows his ****. And anyway I can het
my oil analyzed on some website he has provided.
My questions are now is this oil good all year around? I am in Boston so
we get 75-97F summer days but 15-30F winter days. Also he recommended
doing the oil change when the computer tells you to which is like close 8K
miles, do I leave in the filter too?

I read his stuff and used that oil and car loves it. used a purolator filter, but just a step below the top one that doesn't flow as well. I can really tell the difference. Running better than ever.
Should be ideal for you year round. His whole point was that it is like a 0 weight in the winter, so immediate oil pressure, and according to his research as near to a 40 weight for summer, without it actually being a 40.
Either he is well researched and FOS or he really knows his stuff.
Tend to think the latter.

Yes, he knows about oil. Problem is that GC is no longer made in the form it was during its' hay day. The Jury is still out on the reformulated stuff. Although, there have been a few voa's posted. The green (original GC) is almost impossible to find in the States now because all of us whom frequent Bobistheoilguy also know of it & went out & emptied the shelves of the remaining bottles. Try Amsoil. Use it in all of my cars except for the LS1. Amsoil is great oil. Think guys using Amsoil in the LS1 use 0w-40.
