Squeaking coming from engine after running a while Hi all,
2000 WS6 A4 has a squeaking sound coming from the engine once its hot at idle. When cold its quiet, thought it was one of the belts going, or maybe a pully needs replacing?? When engine is hot and I turn on the A/C the sound gets louder at idle. Anybody experiance this?? Want to know whats going on before I take it in.

I would change out out the a/c belt. If that doesn't work then it may be the tensioner. I had the same identical problem 2 weeks ago, but it turned out to be the belt and not the tensioner. Read up on the tensioners. They're known to wear out which will cause the squeeking sound.
