try drilling a hole where it looks to be held up. Drill a big enough hole so you can see what's the deal. It has to be the other rivet or maybe even a screw. Wish I could be more help.

I have change the motor on both sides now on a 2000 T/A, they are a pain. Need to remove the speakes in the door too as this gives a good access hole. First make sure the window cant drop. I used some large suction cups, the ones you can hang off the side of a glass building with, should you ever want to. lol. Or you could use string or something, just make sure the window cant drop as it will hurt.
I drilled about 4 rivets out on mine, also there is a hook on the assembly which holds it onto the door. once removed all rivets you are almost there. I still had some life in my motor, could slowly wind it up and down using the contorls, as the window is stuck with the suckers it cant move so the motor moves int he door instead. There is a scissor type action going on in the door which is on rollers, you need to take the rollers to the end of the runners, and eventually you will have the whole assembly including the scissor action parts with a very strong spriing. I thing I got the assembly to some out through the speaker hole or it may have been the other end. Its a bit of juggling to get it out, had to move the motor a few times to the right position.
Eventually you will have the assembly out on the floor, the motor is rivited to the assembly. DONT DRILL THESE RIVETS YET. Be sure to put it in a vice, and tie the sucker so that wild sping dont take your arm or foot off, that scissor action part is leathal. I tried it on the floor in the parking lot at work, it spring to action, thinkgs flying round, something knocked my hand out the way, my hand all went numb and I had to count my fingers as I was sure I lost one, all were there just brused, so take great care on this.
The auctal motor dosn't have a start or end point in it rotation, so once old motor removed just put the new one in, I used nuts and screws for the new one to make it easier to change next time. Now get the whole assembly back in the hole and eventually you will get the rollers back in the runners. I used screws and locking nuts and washers to hold the assembly to the door again to make it easier to change next time. Make sure the screws arn't too long as it will fowl on the motor mechanism.

I got my new motor from http://www.1aauto.com/ They have two grades one is $20 other is $30. I brought my first motor from a local dealer was 148 GBP thats $266 US dollars. So I made a great saving buying the next motor from 1aauto. Acutally I purchased 4 in case they go again.

Good luck.

I have a shop manual, and the directions to window removal/installation are a pain in the ***. The only thing you have to do is remove the speaker for a big opening and then drill out the rivets of the motor, then install new one. That's all I did. I did not have to hold the window or use "wedges,"nor did I have to take any mechanical components of the window apart. Sounds easy, just have patience. I also drilled two holes to make tighting two of the screws provided for the new motor easier. I believe they were 10mm. Then I smoothed them out with a dremmel tool, makes it look smooth and professional. Have a vacuum handy also.
If your motor is not loose, and there are only two rivets, double check behind the adhesive hold which holds some sort of wire, near the speaker.(one of my rivets was hidden behind there). I am sorry to be vague but I am doing this from memory. I hope this helps

RedWS6 00 ,

I have replaced the driver's side motor on my 2001 Formula. Its easy. There is no need to remove the scissor mechanism. Remove the interior door panel. Prop up the window (shove somthing in one of the upper holes in the door where you can see the base of the window). Drill a couple holes in the fiberglass inner door to expose the motor's rivets and then drill out the rivets. The motor comes out easy. Then put the new motor in place and attach it with nuts/bolts. New Seimans motors are available at AutoZone.

Thats a brief rundown, here is the sticky from the Stereo & Electronics section:
