Interior Gas Smell?

Hey guys,

I have a 1995 lt1 m6.

Everytime I drive my car for atleast 10 minutes, and i get out and dont come back for about 30 minutes, when I get in my car it smells like gas, its real strong and i see no leaks anywhere. What else can it be? And can I access the top of my tank through the trunk? Let me know!

Could be a vent tube plugged or crimped, where the vapor is coming in the car. Might be something under the hood also. I'm sure you would have a super strong odor from raw fuel under the hood.

There is no smell outside the car or under the hood, just inside.

its the fuel pressure reg i had the same problem keep looking and looking until one day i came home i lift the hood got a light and a mirror and turned it off looked back there and it was wet with gas and stuck my hand back there to get it wet and smell and there it was but my fuel presurre never changed was the funny thing replaced and the smell was gone hope this helps

Where did you pick one up from and how much was it? also did you do it yourself or have someone else do it?

LT1 fuel pressure regulator (93) (AC-Delco #217-370) = 17107491
LT1 fuel pressure regulator (94-95) = 17091221
LT1 fuel pressure regulator (96-97) = 17091947

List price for 17091221 is $145, but can be found for about half of that.
