Coil Problem My LS1 has been sputtering, i figured it was a coil problem, but didn't know which one. so i swapped my coils with a friend of mine, the problem was gone but now how do i determine which coil or coils are bad. is there any techinique where i can check which one is good or bad. and info will be very helpfull

I've had plug wires fall off a plug before - you'll hear clicking and see spark. Pulling the wire off the plug would be a quick way to check, but it'll set off the SES light and you'll have to reset the PCM. Also, I'm thinking it may foul the plug since the mixture won't be burning.

no i don't have access to a scanner. i have tried to remove the plug wire but when i removed the coils and looked at them, 4 seemed to have corrosion on them, a blueish paste. when i put them on the car and removed the wire it still sparked, how do i know if the spark is strong enough. where can i get a scanner?? and for how much? thanks
