whine on decel

whine on decel did a search,most of stuff was on 12 bolt rear ends.....
car sounds fine during acceleration,out of nowhere im hearing a loud whine when letting off the gas in gear,when its in neutral(6 speed) rolling the same speed I hear absolutely nothing. I have not been to the track or been doing any irregular driving. have had no rear end or tranny problems,although I am already saving for a 9" so I can eventually go to the track.
what Im asking is if it is the tranny or rear, and how long should I be looking for it to last?

Looks like the third 10 bolt rear in the camaro has finally crapped out.
it started leaking from the front of the rear on the driveshaft(also making a loud whining on decel),was told it was a pinion seal.went to replace the seal and when I grabbed the driveshaft it moved around a lot,turns out the pinion nut was not even finger tight.......took all that off happily thinking that it was a simple problem to solve,grabbed the pinion shaft coming from the rear and it moved a lot....after walking to look at the two broke rears i have I see that this is not a good thing,looks like the bearings are bad......(is there an easy way to replace the outer one?)
so I have no choice but to put the car up on jackstands and .......
A. have it rebuilt which will cost a small fortune(an easy grand im sure)
B. struggle to find a 4th piece of crap 10 bolt thatll cost 3-400 bucks thatll last anywhere from a day to a year.
OR.........................
C. wake up early in the morning and call moser for my 9" housing and start browsing ebay for my 4.33 detroit locker chunk.....
