do you use oil additive?

Just what it sais. for example: prolong. stuff like that. Does it help?

Stay away from it. Just change your oil often with German Castrol 0W30 and use K&N #2006 filter. That is what I do. Of course there are other oils and filters.

The only thing I've ever used is Auto-Rx as per Patman's recommendation. I'm still in the rinse phase with it, so it'll be a while until my next oil analysis.

German Castrol here too, and Lube Control per Terry Dyson's recommendation. LC is fully discussed on the BITOG forum and is an anti-oxident. My used oil analyses have improved quite a bit since I started using it. I believe Patman may also use this but am not sure.

how does this german castrol compair with amsoil. all ive ever heard is how amsoil is the best but now im hearing about german castrol for the first time.

i've ran some seafoam in my crank for about a day before an oil change. that or a quart of tranny fluid to clean everything. just don't drive it hard if you use tranny fluid.

You're going to get different opinions on that question. I've been reading up for the last month or so on Oil for Ls1's, and both of these seem to be on the high end of the oil spectrum. Is one better than the other? probably. Is the difference enough to matter for the average joe? probably not.

I went with the Amsoil Euro 5w-40 and their new EaO filter because my old man is a dealer. It was also recommended by Patman. Brought the oil pressure up higher than the dino oil, and I wont need to change it for another year.

Not too bad for the 72 bucks invested.
