Broken driver side mirror

Broken driver side mirror I noticed my drive side mirror bouncing some so I checked and the plastic piece or bracket inside has snapped in half. I dont know if someone hit it or what. I was wondering what I need to do to fix this. It looks like the outsideo f the door is in the way for me to unscrew the 2 screws that are holding the mirror. Some help please.

You are going to have to replace the whole mirror assembly. This requires removing the door panel. The mirror assembly is held on by usually three nuts. And you also have to unplug the power mirror connecter. Just take your time if you do the job it is not very difficult.

Are you talking about the outside doorp anel if there is one? I saqw 2 screws and they were next to the window tucked up underneathe. I oculdnt reach them with the door in the way.

NO.
The door panel is the inside panel where your window controls are located. That whole part comes off the door, and is needed to be removed to access all of the mirror hardware/connector. If you need more info maybe I can take a picture of mine, and which screws etc. need te be removed to perform mirror r&r. let me know.

the same thing happened to me a couple years ago. just removed the black triangle piece and unscrewed the mirror assembly. i decided to reuse the housing so i wouldnt have to get the new one painted. i dont believe i had to remove the interior door trim, but i could be wrong.
