New MAF causing problems

Default New MAF causing problems

okay i have a 2000 LS1 Z...my friend has a 99 LS1 TA he is trading in so he is selling all of his aftermarket parts i bought his SLP 90mm MAF...well i put it on my car and now my car runs sluggish..my other friend has a 01 LS1 WS6....normally when i raced him from a roll i would pull him at least 3 cars we ran today after i put it on from a 30 roll by the time i got to 110 he was at 140 and at least 5 cars out on me.... it has also set on my SES light...all i can think of is maybe because my friend on his 99 TA had a custom grind comp cam when he bought the MAF and they calibrated it his cam specs... and i have stock cam in my car....anyone help me with this??????

Do you have a factory tune...if not that might be the problem.

The stock MAF flows enough to support 500hp, so unless you have more than that, I'd suggest going back to the stock MAF
From reading here, I've learned tha SLP MAF is not a real good mod, for a relativly stock car, as it can cause the symptoms you desrcibe

1) Put the stock Maf back on...

2) Read up on what mods work on what kinds of cars, which ones work in harmony with each other and which ones do not. This forum is the best place for that.

3) Try not to die racing around at 140 mph...
