Default maintenance list

Hi all,

I am going to be doing some maintenance on my 2000 TA LS1 with 46k before I go with headers and LS1 edit and start really diving into the mods....here is my list of stuff I am going to do to freshen up the motor and make sure all is well before going all out on power. please let me know if this is overkill or if I am leaving anything out

1. Spark plugs and wires
2. Fuel filter
3. synthetic all the way through....oil, tranny and rear
4. oil filter
5. belts
6. diagnostics to see if I am "throwing codes"
7. alignment

thanks and let me know if I am leaving anything out...

With only 46K, the wires could be OK. Wouldn't hurt to change 'em, but if you're looking to save a few bucks they could probably last quite a while still. If you see any cracking/damage/excessive wear though, definitely change 'em.

Looks good to me. The belts might still be OK to, but if they look cracked or worn swap 'em out.....

looks good to me. However, if you have an M6 pre 01', dont use synthetic fluid in the tranny. Reg. Dexron III ATF will do fine. I dont think you should use synthetic in an A4 if im not mistaken. Rear and motor oil, synthetic is good. Dont change the plug wires unless they are cracked. Just do the plugs. HTH

yeah im an M6. I want to do synthetic in the tranny. The belts are LOUD as hell right now...but I guess it could be a pulley? Anyway I figure I will just do the wires while I am in there...I mean I have it in my budget anyway
