Battery maybe? Electrical problem

Background information:
Bought the car 2/1/06. Replaced the alternator 3 days ago because the voltage would dip when I hit the brakes, but go back up when I revved the car. Ever since then, I've had to jump the car everytime I started it.

I looked at the battery and it had some corrosion on the positive terminal, so I spraped it off with a wire brush.

Now, I just drove the car after jumping it. But in order to get it started, I had to try to crank it like 3 times, there was a burning smell :wtf:

Finally got it started, as I drive the voltage SLOWLY (over the course of like 15 mins) goes from about 15 volts to about 13 volts, and this happens no matter what I do.

I am getting so frustrated already

make sure your conections on the alternater are tight, otherwise they could be shorting out a little , check the ground from the battery to the frame also.

Think I've checked them both, anyone else? Does this sound like a battery issue?

Replaced the battery today, car drove fine for 20 miles but it seems to have trouble keeping a charge. Anyone?

if u cant keep a charge, the culprit is most likely a bad alternator. y dont u just take the alternator and battery to autozone and have them both tested.
