Oil splash on inside of hood?

Oil splash I have a 02 Z28 55k miles need help on what could cause an oil splash to appear on the inside of my hood. This happened 3 months ago after an oil change I did drive the car 4 months 2200 miles on royal purple 5w30 the dip stick showed that it needed oil added. I had my tech change the oil using Mobile 1 5w30 checked every day since no more splashes. I had my oil changed recently, and now again there is fresh oil at the top of the hood but, no were else 
Is the splash in the area of the oil fill? Could they have started your car with the oil cap off? Not sure if that would throw oil or not but I guess it could. Is this the same place you took it to the last time you had oil on the inside of the hood?
These cars do burn oil especially the thinner weight 5W-30 oils so the fact that you were down a qt at 2k miles is not unusual. I burned a lot of oil when I used to use M1 5W-30 in my LS1.
