Need help to find problem!!!! I have a 01 ws6 a4 she just past 40,000 miles. However when I shift thought the gears the engine makes a knock like bad gas would sound but I always put 93 in. Here is an example I shift from 1st to 2nd and get the rpms up to 2500 or higher and let off it knocks same when I got from 2nd to 3rd but its not as noticeable almost nonexsitant when i have it in drive. Its under a heavy loud and the car is fully warmed up. I have checked my oil levels and the are fine aswell I have switched to Royal Purple motor oil 10w30 as from the dealer's oil changes. Any suggestions would be great

You have an A4 and your shifting? I guess your racing around? It could be a bunch of things. Are you having engine knock or rattling from exhaust or tranny. If it only happens under load, you could be twisting the tranny enough to rattle the tranny mount. When you take your foot off the gas while in 1st or 2nd, your tranny wont shift because your locked in 1st or 2nd. But if your in drive your tranny will shift instead of reversing the torque on your tranny. I'm not really sure on this one....
