Default Wierd coolant problem

Well my car's radiator is filled to the top, but after awhile the low coolant light comes on. I know it's full because if I take the cap off and let the car get hot enough for the fans to come and run the heater the coolant is still at the top, however, the low coolant light comes on. Or at least that's what I think it is. The little rectangle thing with a wavy line in the middle and a hole at the top. I think my neighbor is having the same problem. What's the deal?

Oh ok, so just a new sensor. It's wierd though because it will go off and on. Like once the car warms up some it will kick on.

yea, probably the sensor.

its like 40 bucks i think, but you can just unplug it if you want. it wont set any codes or anything. just watch the coolant level

Ok, because I'm not about to spend $40 on a sensor that really doesn't do anything. Thanks guys. You will know when you don't have enough coolant anyhow because the water temp will be high and mine is always really low.
