Question throttle sticking ?

has anyone had problems with their throttle getting stuck after spinning 1st and 2nd gear off? playing around today got sideways and let it roast the tires, let off the gas pushed in the clutch and instead of taking it's sweet time returning to idle as usual the rpm's hung aroung 3000 and started rising. this is the third time. 2001 car has 46,000 miles lid and exhaust only. any suggestions?

Check your floormat I've had mine stick all the way to the floor a couple of times cause after I pressed the pedal all the way down it gets hung on the mat.

have you cleaned you throttle body? also check the throttle body shaft for sticking or wobble.

move it manualy from outside and look for binding and any shaft play. if ok? try cleaning the t/b with carb cleaner (make sure to get the back of the throttle plate) and the idle air passage and pintle.

if it's real dirty? i would remove it from the intake to get it really clean.

just some info!

Yeah, check for oil behind the throttle body gumming stuff up. Also check the throttle cable to see if its got any gunk on it. Lastly, try loosening and recentering the throttle blade screws incase the blade is getting wedged a little in the TB bore.

most likely cause for throtle sticking issues is mainly due to carbon build up, from my experiences....
