Whisper Lid??

Ok i got my whisper lid yesterday in the mail and had a very hard time getting it on. It wasnt fitting very good on the base. For some reason it was too narrow to go over the sides of the box in the front. I had to cut the lid a little bit to get it to fit? Has anyone else had this problem? I just wouldnt flush up with the K&N or the base?

slp lid fit on fine.. dont known about whisper

Been years since I installed mine, only problem I had was the clips not staying closed - someone gave me the link to www.installuniversity.com and once I got it pushed back far enough, and got the front of the lid inside the lower lip of the airbox it's been fine. Maybe the new ones have changed???
