Default Strange problem

I noticed that my small middle taillight was burnt out last night, I took it apart and noticed that both of the light bulbs werent just burnt out but the sockets were melted and the bulbs were melted to it making it impossible to take the bulbs out,

Does anybody know what caused this?

and how should I go about fixing/replacing them

any replies would be great,
thanks.

Ive noticed a few of the bulbs that have burnt out on my Camaro that they melt the plastic sockets a bit though never did it make the outlet useless. I always chalked it up to cheap *** GM wiring.

Most likely caused by moisture getting in there. People have reported the same thing happening to turn signal lamps/sockets.

Yep, it's normal. Work the bulbs out gently or use a sharp object to peel the socket back up off the bulb. You'll get them out eventually, and the socket will be fine.

If you happen to break the bulb you'll be able to get everything out of there with needle nose pliers. Keep the car off.

More importantly.... keep the lights off! I've made a few sparks during my tail light repairs!
