Bleeding the radiator.

Bleeding the radiator. What is the proper procedure to bleed the radiator? Do you just let the car heat up hot enough for the thermastat to open with the cap off and then add more coolent?

Do you mean to just bleed or completely flush? there is a difference, correct?
Check out advance auto, they also have these inexpensive tools for specific types of maintenance, they may have a radiator flush/bleed tool. I know they had a tool for a brake bleed.

The LS1s don't have bleed screws to aid in bleeding, so you just disconnect the coolant line going to the throttle body when adding coolant (installuniversity.com). I just let the engine warm up with the radiator cap off and keep topping off when the thermostat opens up. I let it cool down, top off, run with cap off and repeat. I usually go through 2 or 3 warm up cool downs before the level in the radiator stabalizes - also, make sure the overflow tank is topped off.
I've read tha the LT1s do have bleed screws, so I think the procedure may be different though.
