Default Freon and PAG

How much oil and freon do our AC systems take. According to Advanced Auto, they take 9 oz of PAG and 24 OZ of freon. For some reason, that doesn't sound right.

The required amounts of each should be posted on a sticker on the side of the receiver/drier/filter on the suction line.

When I bought my replacement a/c compressor there was a detailed page included with it that provided rules-of-thumb and some more specific information. Something like one oz of oil goes in each replaced item, Xoz's in this compressor X+1 oz in that compressor...

I didn't have to use very much when I replaced mine. Certainly, there'd be a lot more needed in an all-new system.
