Default Intermitten vibration at 40+ mph

Just finished wrecked '98 vette. There is a 2-second intermitten vibration when I exceed 40mph. Hard to tell if it is front or rear, but fairly strong vibration felt in floor board. I've heard that it could possibly be transmission needs to be balanced. Wheels are balanced and alignment is done. Any idea?

Tranny mount, or driveshaft is out of balance is my guess.

sounds like to me you have a shitty steel driveshaft. i have one, auto 2.73's my gas pedal vibrates when i'm crusing through parking lots at 5 mph and vibrates as soon as i hit 65 mph then goes away.

a balanced aluminum driveshaft should cure your problems.

I'd also check the wheels and tires if it was a repaired wreck. My '98 formula had a horrible vibration around 40 mph and it turned out to be a tire with a flat spot on the inside.
