My sisters 96 sebring just broke down on me a few hours ago, but im not sure what the problem is. When you turn the key it turns over but doesnt even try to start. It just died while cruising down the highway. Im thinking maybe the alternator went out but let me know what you all think it is.

 

if the motor is turning over its not the alternator cause your battery should be dead. I think you are missing fuel or spark check one of those two. Maybe a fuel pump. Just my .02¢ good luck.

 

I woudl say fuel pump. Listen for the pump. When you turn the key to on, the pump shoudl run for a few seconds then shut off. I am putting money on the fuel pump
