Wrist pins blown?
Wrist pins blown? ok so i took a ride down to seaside this weekend in the SS. drove it pretty hard down there but not out of control. a lot of downshifting but never overrevved it or even brought it near 6k. when i was coming back sunday i started the car and heard a clicking noise that i never heard before. the tapping got louder and louder as the rpms rose. So i cruised back in 6th at 1500rpms to keep the click down. When i got it home i stopped by my mechanics house he is almost positive i did something to the wrist pins. We checked the oil and i was down 2 quarts so im guessing that was the cause. I have the car sitting in my driveway now and am going tonight to see when i can bring the car over. I was wondering how much you think a set of new pins is gonna be cause i know my labor charges are going to be considerably cheaper than a regular shop. Im just trying to get an estimate to get my act together.... thanks
