Default rear view mirror

anyone know how to replace the mirror part only.i have a slight crack in it.i thought my insurance should replace it but they said nope

When you say "rearview" do you mean the interior rearview or the rear/sideview mirrios on the doors?

If you mean the interior one, I don't think there is any way to replace just the glass.

Not hard at all to change the interior one. But if you want to buy a new one from GM you won't be able to get the same one as your car came with (assuming you have a '99). They updated the design in '01 and that's the mirror you get when you order one for any year 4th gen now. You will need to order a wiring harness adaptor for the new one to work. The dealer can get all that for you, the adaptor part number should be listed as a 'required' part when they look up the mirror for your year.

Option B is to get one off a parts car that's a '94-'00 model year F-body. It will be identicle and require no wiring adaptors.
