Default Anyone having problems with there power steering cooler?

hey guys. I have a 99 SS. When I first got the car, the poewer steering cooler went bad. The metal pipe in the upper radatior hose. Well I have been having some idleing issues when the car is cold, I checked the the fluid and the power steering fluid was in there again. This is my 2nd one. Whats the deal with these? Anyone else have a problem with these?

I think mine may be leaking power steering fluid into the coolant. Power steering fluid goes away with no obvious leaks, and coolant seems oily. Coolant low light comes even though coolant is full. I have cleaned and replaced the coolant level sensor in the past and have it work correctly for quite a while. Anyone ever hear of the cooler tubes going bad?

guys that do alot of auto Xing are having issues with them. The factory pump provides to much pressure. And when you have alot of pressure and are working the hell out of it it goes bad quick. I think there is a thread in the road racing section here or on the "other" site. There is some good info about the pumps. There is also acompany that is making a differet set up that doesnt stress the pumps so bad. I think the ASA cars are using it.

I used a radiator pressure tester and when the radiator was pressurized the level of the power steering fluid began to rise. I bought a new PS cooler from chevy and installed it. Flushed the cooling system, it was full of oil (PS fluid). Hopefully all is well now.
