There's got to be more than 23 people on here that change their own plugs!

I did all 8 in about 40 minutes - Crawl under andf you can see #8 plain as day. Sometimes pulling the coil packs can be just as much of a bitch as pulling the plugs (pass side rear bolt).

On my car when it still had stock manifolds I had no luck getting #8 from the bottom. We ended up using a crazy frankenwrench which was a combination of like 2 pivoting u-joints, and 3 or 4 extensions. #8 took about 4 hours on my car.

On my buddies z28 with headers I got the coil packs off and every plug out of the pass. side including #8 in under an hour, a 1" extension does wonders for #8 on a car with headers.

The coils are abreeze getting off except maybe the far back bolt, My first spark plug change took about 2 1/2 hours.

Definitely from top. I pulled #8 first because it was said to be the hardest. I removed the AIR pipe, coil packs and had the plug out in less than 5 minutes after that. Use the 12 pt side of a small 10 mm wrench to get at that back coil bracket bolt off, then throw it as far as you can. 4 bolts is enough to keep that bracket snug on the valve cover.

I did not take coils off on driver side but I did unbolt the AIR pipe and push it aside. I had all plugs changed and wires on in about 1.5 hours. It was my first time I will say the hardest part for me was getting the #8 plug wire on. For some reason it did not want to slip on.

yep, its much easier on the 99s and up cuz they are all on one bracket. Unfortunately the 98's are bolted individually to the valve covers

It takes me about 45min. doing them all from the top. My air tubes are all ready removed and i am only using 3 bolts for the coil brackets.

I'm surprised the poll is so close. I've always gone from the bottom, of course that's with headers on the car. With the stock manifolds I guess the cat is in the way?

Used to only take me an hour and a half on the bolt on bird. But, the supercharged bird......aye yay yaye..probably 2.5 hours and alot of cuts on my arms.

Lets not even talk about changing belts...

But its money in my pocket and with gas prices now a days...it all adds up.

If you don't have a 1" extension, try slipping a larger socket over the back of the spark plug socket (13/16" or 3/4" or whatever it is). Works good for me. A 1" socket would really help though.
