Default Hole in Pcv

ok for the past few weeks my car has had this high pitched hissing noise going on under the hood so today while im trying to change the GOD FORSAKEN last passenger side spark plug i listen and try to find it and low and BEHOLD a hole in the pcv line right beside the throttle body. When i put my finger over the hole the car seems to run smoother? so what kind of affect would this hole have on my car?

It's a vacuum leak. It's allowing un-metered (post MAF) air into the motor and it will certainly cause some idle and A/F issues.

Get a piece of hose thats bigger than the hose thats leaking and wrap it over it. I had a hole in mine and thats what I did to fix it.
