Default HELP! Trying to replace passenger side window motor

well i was trying to get to the passenger side window motor, so i took off the door panel expecting it to be right there. haha. i was wrong. the is a huge see threw plastic piece glued to the door so water wont get inside the door. so what do i do with that. secondly, once that is off what bolts do i take off to get to the actual motor. and how hard is it to change. can you do it with ordinary tools or what. and is there like a step by step guide on how to do this thing, i always feel more comfortable doing it step by step. but any info would be appreciated. im trying to get everything off so that when i get paid on friday i can go get the motor, put it in and then put everything back together and then go on a road trip. i want the window fixed before i go on the road trip with my girlfriend. thanks again for the info. Dan

I just had to do mine recently. There are a lot of good information in some previous threads for this cronic issue.

I used these links:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showt...ht=window+motor

http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

They're the perfect step-by-step. It took me about 1.5 hours, and I took my time being careful. If you're careful taking off the rain guard, you can re-use it like I did. I also used the suggestion to drill access holes to the rivets. It actually isn't bad.

I did mine with zero knowledge, took about an hour. The shbox.com link says it all. Good write up, pics could be better and more thorough but all in all not too bad.
