Broke something today, need help 99 Z28 with 34k miles tuned by Speedinc, 426whp.
Driving at 4k rpm in second, ran it to redline and just before shifting to third I hear a loud bang detonation like and the motor dies. Coasted to an exit, no smoke, no oil loss, no loud sound from the engine bay. Tried to start her and she backfires and gives a weak crank, I suspect the timing chain went.
Car is at the shop, will know more on Monday. Any guesses based on the symptoms?
