help with power steering plz
help with power steering plz so my power steering whines whenever i drive the car really hard. it doesnt happen when im going strait, only after i go through some corners at speed. i looked under the car and i think the power steering pump is leaking. i havent checked the fluid level yet, but what really concerns me is that the pump may need to be replaced. any thoughts?
Check between the pump body and the pulley for fluid. Sometimes the shaft seal will go bad and start to leak. I would check your fluid first...if its low, then top it off and look for a leak at the shaft seal (mentioned above), fittings at the pump, fittings at the rack, and where the reservoir meets the pump body. If its not low and it still whines, I suggest replacement of the pump.
