Default SS Spoiler problem

Since I got the car a year ago, the 3rd brake light has been starting to go. The holes the screws go through have kinda rounded out and the other night I got home and noticed the light was hanging by the wire. Where do i disconnect the wire for the LED's? Will I have to take the spoiler off? I'm not sure what to do about the light but I know GM wants $175 for a new one. Help please!

I would splice the new light into the existing wire so you don't have to remove the spoiler or snake the new light through. Just use solder and heatshrink and you will be ok.
