Lots of sputtering before the engine turns over

Lots of sputtering before the engine turns over Today it started doing this. First time I started it, it seemed like it barely turned itself over. When starting it again after it had been sitting for only a few minutes it fired right up. But I just went to start it again after it had been sitting for a few hours, and it took it some sputtering to turn over. Only had to crank the key once though.
Any ideas?

Could be fuel or spark.
Checking fuel pressure is a good idea. Might want a new fuel filter, and/or new plugs.
Being that you list a '95 in your sig, I'm guessing the issue is with that car. So I suppose it could also be an opti issue as well. I've seen all kinds of crazy things happen when those start to go bad.
