Default Dented K-member

So I was driving home from the track last night, and I didn't see a mini-bolder in the road (about 8" diameter). I didn't have enough time to go around it and ended up running it over . I heard two giant bangs under the car, and pulled over to inspect the damage. All I could find was a huge dent in the K-member where the rock hit it. The dent is just behind the steering rack and slightly towards the passenger side, and I got really lucky it didn't hit the oil pan.
Everything seems to be ok, no weird noises/leaks/handeling issues, just a big-a$$ dent in the k-member.
My question is:
Is it worth replacing with a new k-member? If so should i go aftermarket or factory? Are there any safety issues with leaving the dented k-member on?
If I do end up replacing it, is it an easy do-it-yourself thing with novice experience and basic hand tools?

All input/advice is welcome
Thanks

My car has a dent in the k-member also on the pass side when I bought it. It does not pull or anything. Just for fun I put it on the alignment rack and everything was in spec. I am not going to worry about mine. Everytime I change the oil I am going to keep an eye on it just to make sure it isn't cracking (the welds).

get an alignment to dbl check..and then check the welds or hell you can paint it to keep it from rusting if you want..and i am not going to flip $500 for a new damn K member period.
