Default LT1 in thirdgen

I just put an LT1 in a thirdgen camaro and I was told that I didnt need the crankshaft position sensor, so I didnt put it in. Could that cause me to have no spark?? That is the only thing I can think of that it could be. Any help would be appreciated!

Every engine that I know of that has a crank shaft sensor uses that sensor to crank. I don't know who told you U did not need it, but that is crazy. To run the Lt1 You would use a Lt1 puter. The puter has an input from the crankshaft sensor. ???????

93-95 lt1's did not come with a crank sensor!the 96/97 did however.
the obd 2 conversion to obd 1 deletes the use of the crank sensor.
what year lt1
what year pcm
you may have a bad opti, icm or coil!
please give more details so you can be helped out

its a 1996 motor and computer. I am just going to put the sensor back in. But I need some sort of spacer because the piece of the sensor that goes on the end of the crank rubs the cloyes double roller timing set.

if you are using the 96/97 pcm you need to have the cps installed.http://www.madz28.com will tune an obd1 pcm for you which will delete the cps and rear o2s etc.very good reputation
