Question Oil pressure sensor install?

Alright I have the transmission out and Im looking at everything that I could see go wrong in the future and I see my oil pressure sensor at the top and well its a little bit oil coated. So Im going to replace it.. My question is, is it just screwed into the top of the block? And could I use a wrench to get it off?

Thanks

Its easiest with the intake off. It is just threaded into the block. I doubt that the sensor is where the oil is coming from. Lots of oil, crud and dirt gets to the back of the intake. It is easy to change though, if you do want to throw on a new one.

Ok cool! Well I figure it would be cheap insurance just incase I did drive it down the road and it went bad now. Then I would have to pull the intake off and god knows what would happen with that.. Mostly I would feel the need to buy a new intake since I went through all that to pull the old one off.. Probably an LS6 in the future..

If you do eventually plan on a ls6 intake, I would wait to change it until then. There's lots of people that break it during the intake removal as well. You just need to be careful when lifting the intake off that the brake booster vacumn line doesn't snag it. I've had a spare sensor in my garage for over 4 years, just in case I ever broke it! After many mainfold removals I've been lucky to never break it.

True! Ive actually decided to hold off on the oil pressure sensor untill then as well. I might be coming into an LS6 intake next month so I am going to be holding off untill then. That way I can replace the MAP sensor as well and not run into any other unforseen outcomes.

Thanks for all the advice!
