Default Battery finally died

The battery in my SS finally died on me this morning, I am thinking of replacing it with the optima red top. Is this a direct replacement battery? Is there anything that I need to modify or adjust? Are there any other batteries that are comparable to the optima's that may cost less? Don't really care if it is a sealed battery or not.

Optima is a good unit. I recently replaced mine with a Duralast Red Top from Autozone. 3 year free replacement, $70 and a $10 gift card mailed to me. It looks nice in the car, and is a pretty good battery, too.

And it is a direct replacement. Nothing to modify.

Maybe I will look into the duralast unit. Are the CCA similar to the optima? Also what about weight, are there major differences in weight?

I went the duralast route not to long ago. It only lasted 3 months. Replaced with an Optima Red Top and everything's been great since then.

I replaced my stock delco after 6 years and several recharges with an Optima red top. It was $99 total. I got an awsome deal on it. I had no problems installing it.
