Default Some 02 z28 issues

Hey guys,

Got a few questions for you guys to pick your brains at. First off, it's a 2002 Z28 mods listed in sig. The problems,

1. Motor seems to cut out for a split second when driving normally in 2nd gear when lightly on the throttle; feels as if I were to shut the car off.

2. When I power shift, 90% of the time it will throw a code, "random multiple cylinder misfire", clear the code and doesn’t come back.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. BTW, car runs perfect, and when power shifting I’m not bouncing off the limiter.

Thanks in advance,
Kevin D

how amny miles are on the car? have you done a tune up recently?

You may need to do plugs/wires/fuel pump/injector cleaning and such. the misfire can be your plugs and wires, and the car feeling like its about to shut off could be your feul pump warning you its on its way out.

Car has 60k, did plugs about 500mi ago, but has been cutting out like that before the plug change. This only happens in second gear when very lightly on the throttle, no other time.

hmmm that is a rather strange problem. does it stutter when it does it/backfire anything like that? it may have something to do with your TPS

I wonder if a plug wire is breaking down?

Check the main power lead off of the back of the alternator. Mine was hitting the return line on the power steering pump causing a short. My issue though was the motor cutting off for a split second on a 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 powershift.
