Default vibration

While on my way home from work cruising on the freeway, At around 80 mph I can feel a vibration feels like it's coming from thhe back. When axel bearings go out do they vibrate or make a roaring noise? I hope just my wheels and tires are out of balance, I'm not that lucky though. The car is a 00 Z28 A4. Thanks guys.

You should notice noise long before vibration from bad bearings.

Anytime you notice a different vibration the first thing to check is to see if you threw a wheel weight. Usually it'll be pretty clear from the clean spot / outline where the wieght was. A vibration based at a specific speed should be checked with balancing first.

id say
1.check the tires, make sure you didnt throw a weight or they are unbalanced
2. make sure you rim is not bent
3.then check you driveshaft and u-joint

Make sure you check the brake rotors, they may be warped (very common).
