Electrical Problem
I have a '98 Z28.
Alright, so today I finished installing my new alternator and everything works fine; almost 15 amps on the gauge, no squeals, runs fine.
Then, tonight, when I turn on my lights, my digital odometer and the screen on the radio just shut off.
The lights work, the gauges work, the "skip shift" and all those little lights work, the radio itself works, just the odometer and radio face don't work.
Then I turn off the lights and back to normal, odometer turns on etc.
Do I have a short somewhere or what?
Thanks much,
Ryan

OH
MY
GOD
I am so goddamn retarded. How in the world I can manage to change an alternator by myself, yet forget that my car has adjustable dash lights that I turned all the way down and forgot to turn up again is beyond me.
So yeah, that's what it was. I turned the dash lights all the way down to conserve battery on the way home one night and apparently that turns off the odometer and radio face.
I HATE MY LIFE
