MSD wires last how long?

MSD wires last how long? Should they be changed every two years like i do my spark plugs or do they last longer? Will they still keep the same resistance(40ohms/ft) or does it increase over the years?
The wires are fine as long as they're not physically damaged. I'd still have the stockers if I hadn't ripped the boot off one.....had the msd's for over a year and they still look brand new---don't plan on replacing them unless I rip one again.
