Default something is squeaking

hi i am new to this site and new to the ls1 . i have a 1998 trans am,6-speed. but there is this wierd squeaking nosie, i think it is my belt , so i got some belt conditoner. but it still has not stopped. Is there any way to maybe tighten it or make it stop that awful noise. lol. oh and any info about my car would be great. thanks so much

OMG NOT SKEAKING!!!!

Take your belt off and spin each pulley by hand. Its probably one of them and that will narrow it down. I don't think you are suppose to use belt dressing on the serpentine belt anyway, but I could be wrong.

drop the belt tensionar and take it off....apply the new belt like it shows you on the little sticker on the drivers side wheel well....should solve it

i think it may have a new belt on it right now but i will try this weekend , thanks in advance. jamie

Also if your belt seems loose when it's installed, your tensioner could be on it's last leg. If you need to replace it the sponsors carry stronger aftermarket tensioners.
