Default Throwing a code... Cylinder Misfire

Well just got back from the track tonight, car keeps throwing a code: Random Multiple Cylinder Misfire seems to happen if I miss a gear, power shift, or just hit limiter. The motor will fall on its face like its running on 4 cylinders for about 3 seconds then runs normal. I replaced the plugs and is still doing it, any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Kevin D

It idles smooth most of the time, but I notice it bounce from 700 to 800 sometimes while sitting at a light but not often, also the idle stays at about 1 1/2 grand after a burnout then falls back down....

ahhh....ok...back....deff. sounds like you might have a coil pack going bad, this will cause a misfire and a fluctuating idle....id check those and give a ring back

how many miles do you have on the car?

you might be able to, although ive never used that...ive usually just hooked up the tuning suite to it and itll say what the out puts are on the coils....i know this isnt the most economical way....but everytime ive had coil issues with people cars...ive usually just replaced all the coils...its the easiest way and i just dont like mixing electrical parts on these cars....1/2 new coils, 1/2 old coils kinda thing....im pretty sure you can get a new set of 8 coils with the brackets for around 100 bucks...
