What is the best way to fill your a/c system back up with oil?

What did you do. Did you do a compressor replacement cam install. etc. If all you did was a cam add an ounce and let it go. If you did a compressor and flushed the system add three ounces to the compressor and five to the drier. Close it in evacuate it for forty five min then charge it.

So 8oz. of pag should do? I had replaced my original compressor and have gone through two rebuilt ones, so I decided to just do the complete system new. I bought a new compressor and evaporator and will also be replacing the accumulator and orifice tube in the process. I just dont want to go through this again. It has been a pain in the a$$. My original compressor seemed like it completely destroyed itself being that when I replaced the orifice tube it was completely gunked with metal shavings......

The guy I spoke to told me anywhere from 6 to 8 oz will do. Reputable a/c repair shop here in town.

I be honest with you I do all of the a/c work here at our shop. When I have a compressor failure that bad I always replace the condensor. That crap gets so deep in there you simply cannot get it all flushed out. I would recommed changing the condensor also to cya. Yes you are right rebuilt compressors are crap. New gm is the only way to go. If you need anything pm I'll be happy to help you through it.

I just got done taking all of the old stuff out. I am just going to cover up the holes that go into the firewall to make sure nothing else gets in there. It will probably be next week before I can get to intalling all the new stuff again. Thanks for the help.

Is the compressor the only thing you replaced and why did you replace it?

Sounds like the old compressor blew up and the orfice tube is stopped up. Your pressures tell you all you need to know what are they doing?
